Background

Humanity is going through one of the worst crises of its time.COVID 19has impacted the world’s economies, health-systems, industry, and movement. The UN calls this the worst crisis in its existence and quite rightly defines it as “a human crisis that calls for global solidarity”.Pre-COVID, at a global level, we were already battling poverty, climate change, gender inequalities, and access to basic human rights. On top of this, and because of COVID,  the UN predicts that workers around the globe lost 3.4 trillion U.S. dollars by the end of 2020. Noting that the poorest countries and the most vulnerable-especially women – are amongst the hardest hit. With our human family under stress, our social fabric is being torn. This has led the UN to issue a call for action in the form of 17 Sustainable.Development Goals, that will be aggressively pursued by the UN General Assembly. The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all that addresses the global challenges we face today.

LADIESFUND Solar is based in Pakistan. It is engaged in bridging the gap between the developed and underdeveloped countries who are eager to move forward for renewable and sustainable green energy solutions. The LADIESFUND Pakistan was created in 2007 as an initiative to provide security to the women of Pakistan and to promote female entrepreneurship. It was founded with the ambition to foster greater participation of women in the workforce and to connect.Pakistani women professionals and entrepreneurs to each other. In this regard, the LADIESFUND has been engaged with the government of Pakistan to create initiatives that lead to women empowerment and improve their representation in the workforce. Here again, is an initiative being led by a talented female CEO – Ms. Tara Uzra Dawood – who holds a remarkable track record in entrepreneurship and philanthropy.

LADIESFUND Pakistan have embraced this pandemic as an opportunity to craft a unique and creative solution that will deliver broad impact across multiple of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The proposal is to set up a project of 200MW Solar Generation + Storage in the province of Sindh, Pakistan and is explained in further.
